"! I have been this way for YEARS. I need action-heavy, grind-heavy, storyless games to let me enjoy my podcasts!

Favorites Include:

Playstation Home (when played as a minigame collection)

Geometry Wars (all versions)

Motorstorm (or any racing game for that matter)

Street Fighter (or any fighting game)

Torchlight (or any dungeon hack)

Uncharted 2 (or any casual multiplayer shooter)

New Super Mario (or any other retro platformer)

Basically, podcasts have made me severely averse to story-driven, single-player games. Only those with a significant amount of grinding (fallout) or a multiplayer element (uncharted) are podcast-worthy -and thus worthy of my time. Occasionally a Ninja Gaiden or Assassin's Creed will be captivating enough to steal me away from my casts, but for the most part, I am definitely a podcast gamer.

Also, I got a subscription to the Economist audio edition, and it makes me feel very self-righteous about podcast gaming, like I'm educating myself while everyone else is just burning out their braincells ;"

"rew Hiscock needs to go to hell and die. Games like No More Heroes need to be made if only to fuck with gamers' preconceptions and utter reliance on conventions. The game purposefully thumbs its nose at expectations, sometimes to its betterment, sometimes to its detriment, but always creating something much more interesting to play than everything else on Wii. I don't care if it has the stink of an auteur, can you honestly name another videogame which unmistakably reflects the personality of its director? The only one I can think of is Braid, which is a sad state of affairs for a maturing medium.

No More Heroes does have a wholly imaginative and original style, you just don't like it. This article is a lot like the arguments I hear for why Tarantino shouldn't be allowed to make movies, but even those who malign his art should respect his role in the ecology of film, he uses conventions in a way which spotlights their incredibility, he scours the palette from which film-makers have to draw from, he forces originality from others.

Lastly, to correct your factual error, No More Heroes was a modest success in America, hence the sequel. You should take more care when off-handedly insulting cult favorites"

" funny thing is that nagging self-loathing is present even after you loose all the weight, and yet I know fat people who succeed without having it affect them. In any case, it is a related issue that Fat Princess does not touch on. If the game mechanic involved making her so fat that she kills herself in her vanity, that would be offensive.

Personally, I lost 65 lbs, 35 on the South Beach Diet, the rest on blood, sweat and exercise. Part of it was getting myself too love food that was healthy and crave it (hummus, tofu, and veggie soup). Another part was making exercise habitual, to where I felt something was missing if I didn't spend 40-60 minutes heaving weights. The last part was just progress: exercise felt like irredeemable godless torture when I was fat and it feels exhilarating and satisfying now that I'm thin.

"e people have a bias, some just take their cues; if you look uncomfortable, they'll act uncomfortable.

You have an appreciation of life most able-bodied people never see. I wish you the best, Mr.Wiemeyer"
