Best Steam Sale Deal of 2009: Civilization 4: the Complete Edition

Maybe it's unfair to limit the award to just Steam -- other outlets had other sales.  This honours Steam for frequent discounts far and above (or below) anyone else and honours the best example in one award.  Those Bitty (that's what they're called in my mind) trophies must be expensive.

Civilization IV:  the Complete Edition came down to the low, low price of $13.60 (£8.50/€13.60) during the recent winter sales.

It's pricier than some older/casual games available for a song and two peanuts.  But it includes two full games and two expansions, and could be the only PC game you need.

I usually dislike strategy games and turn-based anything but Sid Meier's game has robbed me of so much time I may sue if I fail my degree.

World of Goo for free. Not sure if that was part of Steam, but it happened.

It was on their own site.

Civ 4 is good choice Alex, but I don't know how that can top the original KOTOR for the pocket change of $2.50.

stupid non-editable comments!

KotOR was my second choice but I bought it and still haven't played it. I played it on Xbox the first time around though...

Civ4 is really big and almost playable for eternity. I haven't even got to Colonies yet.

Well, I have played Civ 4 more than any game EVER, so.....

Why no love for Torchlight and the price of it?
Toby Davis , January 06, 2010
The price was very low but I played the demo and didn't find it interesting. If you like lots of clicking and a meh story then I hope you are enjoying it (really, I do, that's not sarcasm).
