...Or more accurately, "Dudebro: My Shit Is Fucked Up So I Got To Shoot/Slice You II: It's Straight-Up Dawg Time". What started as an innocent comment in an Imagine: Babyz Fashion thread took on a life of its own. The fake game immediately caught the imagination of the community, and dozens of photos and mock ups followed. But once user Mik2121 started rendering Dudebro in 3D, the meme never looked back.
Now, it is heading towards an actually game, and the progress stands as such, as per user Danthrax:
- "Amassed an army of 92 volunteers
- Implemented an efficient means of collaboration with Dropbox
- Decided upon a game engine, a platform, a genre and a style
- Drawn up a game design document
- Created a playable pre-alpha build, with enemy AI and some art assets already in
- Written a rough draft of the script
- Composed 32 original pieces of music
- Recorded 52 voice samples
- Created about two dozen pieces of concept art, as well as at least that many mockups and meme images
- Rendered a handful of 3D objects and characters
- Set up a Twitter account, a Facebook page, a CafePress store, a wiki and a teaser Web site for promotion"
And release, believe it or not, is scheduled for May 2010.

Despite the fact that I hate neoGAF more than any other place on the internet, this is a pretty cool idea.
I had never heard of this. Read every page until 19 and then skipped to the end. It was hard to keep up with actual progress updates amid all the mefoolery. Wonder on what page it was announced that Jon St. John was doing the voice.
