Community member Evan Campbell alerted us to a noble initiative by Bungie to provide relief for the earthquake victims in Haiti. On Wednesday and Thursday, Bungie will donate $100 for every thousand people who play Halo while wearing a special red heart emblem, up to $77,000.
We here at Bitmob appreciate Bungie's efforts, so we're scheduling a special Halo 3 Game Night tomorrow at 5 p.m. PST. Come join me (Gamertag: B Bretterson), Shoe (Gamertag: Bitmob Shoe), and other Bitmob staff in fragging for a cause!
Find out how to add the red heart emblem after the break.
To add the heart emblem:
1. Press Start
2. Select Settings --> Appearance
3. Select Emblem
4. Select the "hearts" emblem and "circle" background
5. Back out to the Appearances menu and select Colors
6. Set Emblem Primary to red (or maroon/brick/rose depending on which game you're playing!)
7. Set Emblem Secondary to white
See you tomorrow!
Be sure to check our Twitter and Facebook accounts for updates, and look here to find the online gaming IDs of Bitmob community members and staffers -- add yours if you haven't already done so!

@"Patrick Blank" I fail to see how Bungie can profit from this. Everyone already owns the game, they don't have ads and they already get plenty of people online every day. They're only asking for users to change their emblems. An easy way for gamers with no money to help out.
@Patrick: Companies use these sort of charity tactics all the time. They could simply donate the money if they wanted to. But by allowing us all to participate, maybe it will inspire people to give more.
Anyone else wanting to get in on this should also add my gamertag, CxBxM. I guess you don't need to, but you can if you want...?
I'll have to purge some people to make room for others. Sorry if I delete you! (I don't remember whom all the gamertags belong to.) Just re-add if you want to play tonight.
