Bitmob Most Wanted List: More PS1 Rereleases

Hello again, everyone! Did you really think I could just stop at six games? Well I did, until everyone kept mentioning more and more great games. In of this, I decided to recommend more games I think Sony should be rereleasing. Only this time, it's games and their sequels that we most definitely shouldn't be denied the pleasure of playing; if only until we realize the game doesn't hold-up as well now as we remember.

And we're off!

5) Bushido Blade, Bushido Blade 2 (recommended by Rigoberto R. Escobar)

No other fighting game has ever repeated the magnificence of completely annihilating your opponent in one hit. Seriously. If you knew what you were doing in Bushido Blade, you could fell your opponent in one quick, fatal blow. And it was a blast!

The sequel only improved on the pioneering original by adding items, more characters and more refined gameplay. Did I mention you could "submit" and end your life like a man? Honor!

Current ebay price: $10 and up for the first one, around $20 for the sequel, depending on condition. And for the most part, the first and second one are included as a package.

Wanted PSN price: $5.99-$9.99. I want the standard price, but I'm willing to pay a premium. I like the game that much.

4) Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2 (recommended by David Matos)

Dino Crisis was just like a zombie game by the same company (rhymes with president weavil), but, surprise surprise, featured dinosaurs. Not only dinosaurs, but a ginger main character!

Dino Crisis 2 couldn't be any different than the first game. It was fast-paced (the first was plodding), featured tons of ammunition (the first featured two bullets) and the graphics were good for the time (the first was only so-so). And the replay value was high, as the game didn't last more than a couple hours. But boy oh boy what a fun ride!

Current ebay price: Around $30 for both. Not too shabby.

Wanted PSN price: $5.99 for Dino Crisis. I'd definitely pay $9.99 for Dino Crisis 2, though.

3) Paraiste Eve, Parasite Eve II

I played the original Parasite Eve, briefly, but absolutely loved the combat, graphics and storyline. I'd really like the opportunity to play through the game, and if I had the option to transfer it to my PSP, all the better.

After playing the original, of course I'm going to want to play the sequel. Why not just release them both? I believe the third game in the series may be coming to PSP (I think?), so why not help everyone get reacquainted with the story? I know I'd love to.

Current ebay price: $15 for originalaround $40 for the sequel.

Wanted PSN price: $5.99. What? I can dream, can't I? I'd pay $9.99 for each of 'em, definitely.

2) Rage Racer, Ridge Racer 4

There are certain racing games that just feel right. For the time, to me, it was the Ridge Racer series. I never played Rage Racer, but I always remember hearing and reading that it was different, but still an amazing game.I'd love to give it a shot.

Ridge Racer 4 was one of my favorite racing games. The graphics were great, the tracks designed perfectly, and the cars handled like a dream. I was utterly addicted to this game.

Current ebay price: Around $10 for Rage Racer, $10 and under for R4.

Wanted PSN price: $5.99. The one thing about racing games is they generally don't age very well. I'd pay the standard price, for sure. Anything above that and I'd have to really think about it.

1) Mega Man Legends, Mega Man Legends 2

It was a Mega Man role-playing game. And it rocked. I played the first one nonstop with a friend and we got really far, but we never completed the game. I've always regretted that and hope for the opportunity to do so.

Mega Man Legends 2 was a game I never played but always wished I had. My friends had the game and offered to lend it to me when they beat it; guess they never did. Or they were selfish, ignorant sluts and I hate them. Either way, I want to play it!

Current ebay price: Around $20 for the first, although it's worth noting that several ebay stores had it for $30 brand new. For Legends 2 you're going to pay $40 and up.

Wanted PSN price: No quibbles about it, Capcom knows that people want these two games; we're going to pay a premium. I just hope it's not more than $9.99, otherwise I'll think twice.

Bonus Single Game - The Misadventures of Tron Bonne

This one kind of goes with #1, but not really because it wasn't a sequel, it was a spin-off featuring one of the characters from the Mega Man Legends universe: Tron Bonne. It was a conglomeration of gameplay styles, but I heard it was funny and a good time, and I'd really like to play it.

Current ebay price: Freakin' expensive. $100 and up!

Wanted PSN price: For this (apparently) rare game, I'd definitely pay the $9.99 premium.

And that's a wrap! Can you really ever have too many PS1 rereleases of your favorite games? Probably not, fellow Bitmobbers. Probably not.

Anything I missed? Let me know!

Sorry i could not help but laugh on how ironic it is
Toby Davis , September 05, 2009
@ Toby - It's okay. At least mine is a bit different than a normal list, right? RIGHT?

This better be your last list! I'm gonna hold you to that!

Bushido Blade was awesome though, I'll give you that
I used to love that move where you throw dirt in the opponent's face. I guess that wasn't the way of Bushido though...

Too late Andrew, I just posted another list. SORRY!
Alex R. Cronk-Young , September 05, 2009

Alex R. Cronk-Young , September 05, 2009
@ Lance @ Alex - It most definitely is! But like Alex said, he already mentioned it.

Sorry for stealing your idea! You can most definitely steal any of my ideas...when I have some.
J. Cosmo Cohen , September 05, 2009
I don't think anyone is stealing anything that was not stolen from the people who lied about inventing it but actually stole it from the people who stole it from that weird guy who invented it.
Lance Darnell , September 05, 2009
Exactly.
J. Cosmo Cohen , September 05, 2009
Truer words have never been spoken.
