The Fat Princess Diaries: The More You Know
Written by J. Cosmo Cohen

Back for more, fellow Fatties! I've logged more games now, and I have a little more to say about the game Fat Princess.

Joining a game seems to be a hassle, actually. For some reason my first game I played I had no trouble whatsoever joining a game and getting to the cake eating, enemy dismembering. No such luck for subsequent tries, though.

Once I'm in the game, if the host disconnects, there's a brief message saying something about trying to find the next best host; unfortunately, that has never happened, and instead I get booted. Hmm. Really hope they fix that, because...

...once I'm in the game, it's mad fun!

I highly suggest playing through the tutorial -- I haven't, but my friend has and he "got it" much quicker than I did by not using the tutorial. It's not overly comlex, but, like the loading screen says, "Knowing is half the battle."

And when you play with people that know how to use classes, the game becomes much more interesting and fun. I played as the worker class a bunch and have decided (for now) it's my favorite class and the one I'm the best with.

Observe:

Okay, I'm really liking this worker class guy (is that the official name? I have no idea). Apparently it's my job to keep our base supplied with wood and rocks so we can upgrade the hats (read: classes). Each class can be upgraded one time? I think.

Gathering wood is fun, I feel like an orc from Warcraft III. Chop this tree down, carry it back to base. Woohoo!

Oh crap! The enemies decided that they didn't like me gathering resources and destroyed my poor little ginger man.

My worker hat has been upgraded; now I have bombs! Ha ha! Come try and stop me from gathering resources again, blue team! Yes! Bombed you, little man. Scared you off....oh wait, here comes a group of them. Argh!

...Our castle has been breached? I think it's my job to repair the gate...yep, it is. Good thing I've gathered some wood, as the number on the upper right part of the screen tells me how much we have stockpiled. And each time I repair the castle door, it uses up some resources.

This worker class guy is really cool, but I can't venture too far as I'm not nearly as strong as the other classes. That's okay, though, I love resource gathering!

What I'm loving is the fact that no matter what class you are, you aren't really any better than any other class. Each class works well together, so when you're attacked by a group of enemies who are all different classes, you get destroyed. And when your team realizes the same thing, you get to destroy the enemy.

Oh no, here they come again! Leave my fat prisoner alone!...

Cosmo, I am not trying to be negative, but perhaps you should edit this blog and create something with more substance? I have put about 15 hours into the game, and would love some more in-depth discussion....

This may make the cut at 1up, but at Bitmob we are bitter, cynical, and very hard to please!

In other words, I would love to hear your strategy on the various classes...

This seems more like a liveblog of you playing it in your room alone...... not really a review or anything.

Ah lance ... Keep it up I will cut off your cake supply if you look past what you said and at his blog. He is talking about his time with the game. not your time with the game. Even though it is short it is still his work.

So on the other hand we could make our own discussion about the worker

@Lance
Don't worry man, the more in-depth blog is coming. This is more like a live play blog session, as I was typing pretty much while I was playing. Patience fellow Mobber!

@David
Yeah, exactly. Not a review, just a short description of my time with the game.

@Toby
Ha ha, thanks! But I really am going to go way more in-depth.
