Best Value: Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection
Sega has a million ways to nickle and dime you with their classic library, yet they still saw fit to release this winning collection of some of their greatest titles from the Genesis era. Unlike many of the retro collections out there, Sega managed to put out a compilation that was beefy and did not break what already worked well.
I do wish the game had been a bit craftier about the manner that you unlock the extra content, but $40 (now $20 on Amazon- PS3, 360) seems like a tremendous bargain when you consider that each of the 40-plus games included would cost $5 to $7 on PSN, Xbox Live or the Virtual Console.
