We recently brought on an intern here at Bitmob. But we've been so busy, it's either we dump all this extra work on poor, unpaid Alejandro to spare our own sanity at the expense of his, or we bring on another poor, unpaid sucker to help out.
So yeah, we're looking for editorial intern #2. This person should have a good, dependable work ethic; a good grasp of English/punctuation/grammar; and some free time (but not necessarily full time) every day to dedicate toward Bitmob.
We already mentioned the unpaid part, right? Sorry about that, but being an intern with us isn't without its advantages. You'll be able to list us on your resume, you'll get more direct feedback on your work and writing, and you'll have real-world, start-up experience with an online gaming publication. (You may have heard of a few ex-EGM interns who have gone on to real jobs in the industry, like Xbox's Kathleen Sanders, GameTrailers' Brooks Huber, and Area 5's Jay Frechette.)
If you're interested, send us an email at letters [at] bitmob [dot] com with the subject head: Bitmob Intern. Tell us why you want or deserve to be our intern, and feel free to include a few links to writing samples as well. Let us know of your daily and weekly availability, too. (It doesn't matter where you live, by the way -- as long as we can communicate during the day, West Coast time.)
And if you never got a good handle on writing articles because you were too busy mastering PHP programming, we do need some development help as well....

Also, since I'd be working remotely, what sort of tasks would be expected? It's not like I can run and get you guys coffee and sandwiches from Michigan or anything - mostly proofreading stuff, I would assume?
Could be two hours a day, could be 6+ hours a day, depends, but we'll be flexible (but this person will have to be dependable). But we're probably giving Alejandro too much work right now, so we'll have to split it up.
P.S. She won't really hate me, so you can pick me.
Any idea for when the deadline for submissions will be?
Why would you put your intern to work? I have my own here @ the office, in fact, "it" is writing this article for me as I dictate verbatim what I want to say here.
I guess Bitmob is one of those Start-ups with "morals" and "human decency".
Well Good Luck Shoe. Let me know how it turns out.
STFU AND TYPE THAT INTERN. YOU BETTER NOT HAVE TYPED THAT. GO AHEAD AND BAKE ME ANOTHER CHEESECAKE, and CHOCOLATE MILK THIS TIME, with the PINK CUP LIKE I SAID.
IM SERIOUS YOU BETTER NOT HAVE TYPED THA.....
I actually have a LOT of free time to write, and lately have started an anime blog to give myself something to do. I'm also on the west coast. I wonder if I could hack this.
Good luck to all of the applicants. I'm sure they will have no trouble finding an interested, talented person to fill this role.
Good luck to those applying!
So I wish the person who does get this internship loads of luck. Also I live in Ireland so the time differences might have been too great anyway.
Good luck to all those applying!
We treat our interns well at Bitmob. Right, Alejandro? I've only asked you to deliver a decapitated horse head to Lance once, right?
haha, yeah, he was pretty freaked out.
