"I don't know why you keep bringing up the real series' story, because I certainly haven't. I know it's stupid, but unlike you, Ed, and Thomas, I was perfectly fine with that, as were many others. My point about DmC's story is that Ninja Theory chosen specifically for their storytelling, and because the only game that their internal writers can actually claim is Kung Fu Chaos, what we're getting is just as retarded. So we're stuck with their amateur hour programming and this plagiaristic, juvenile pile of shit for a story. Where exactly is the improvement?

Speaking of gameplay, why isn't "it's a pale imitation" a fair gripe? DMC wrote the book on stylish combat, so why can't I complain when those hacks turn it into a slow, boring mess where bosses have precisely three attacks, enemies don't just telegraph their moves, but write heartfelt letters full of diagrams on exactly what they're going to do and wait for a reply, and most importantly, the removal of lock-on that takes control away from the player and gives it to the game. Let's not forget they put in color coded enemies that can only be attacked with a certain kind of weapon. Because when I think of stylish, fast paced combat, I think of limitations. And I could on go all day about the issues that cutting the framerate in half brings, but I think it would be a waste.

Also, I knew about the pre-order, that's why I said "free with a pre-order." The reason behind that comment is that Capcom is just behind EA as the greediest, shittiest company in the business, and they're giving away DLC that idiots were BEGGING to pay for. Begging a company that will lock a dozen completed characters on the disc to sell for additional profit. And it's being given away to boost pre-order numbers."

"If our(the "nutjobs") opinions matter so little, why has the game changed so drastically from the initial trailer? Why has the game gone from something that apparently had nothing at all to do with the franchise to a pale imitation of it? They obviously cared to some degree, given the weaksauce DT. Also take into consideration that Capcom, a company notorious for locking content on the disc to sell it for additional profit, has offered the $10 Vergil add-on for free with a pre-order. What does that say about their faith in the product?

My being mad about the game is completely justified, the gameplay isn't even modeled after DMC, it's modeled after Heavenly Sword, a game that was never praised for its controls for a reason. Add in the fact that the story is just a mash-up of They Live, Futurama, predictable story elements, and middle school level social commentary. And don't brush that off, they were chosen for their(other people's) storytelling abilities. Also, the developers took to directly insulting us "nutjobs" with almost exactly the same content as your little tirade. Even if it wasn't a laughably mediocre excuse for a game, I wouldn't buy it for that reason alone.

I am going to repeat myself in saying that you don't really seem to like the series all that much, and I wonder why you're so glad to see it change. I would like an answer that doesn't involve you being a rude prick, if that isn't too much trouble."

"If you hated the character that much, why did you play the game? More to the point, if you actually liked the games, why are you championing a blatantly inferior version? Why can't you let the two odd million people who enjoyed the franchise dislike what the third rate Ninja Theory has done with it? And if I must say, he may be an idiot for creating a profile just to talk shit, but you wrote a whole diatribe in response. What does that make you?"

""I played the game after a lot of its initial problems were rectified, and I tried to analyze it objectively."

By ignoring them. Right.

"I believe art is defined by the medium it is presented in."

Maybe, but a product is defined by its competition, and a sequel is defined by its predecessors. Diablo 3 falls short in all aspects.

"If it is through the lense of a strict DRM by Blizzard or such, it will always color it in a way than if it was without the strict DRM."

No kidding, treating your customer like shit has a negative effect on the view of the overall product. Stop the presses.

"Diablo III wouldn't be Diablo III without it."

What? Yes it would, it just wouldn't treat the consumer like a criminal.

"It may be a controversial game, but there is  no denying that it is a really well crafted, beautifully executed game."

What, aside from all those technical issues you glossed over and the fact that it's an RPG that can be beaten in six and a half hours on a blind run?

"Most of the other ancillary problems and complaints I always felt were just bad cases of bitter grapes."

Haters gonna hate? That's what you're going with? That's not even what the sour grapes argument means."

"This article reeks of fanboy so badly it's offensive. You have outright  ignored the numerous problems it had coming out of the gate, not to mention the ludicrous DRM and the exploitative nature of the RMAH. Art does not force people to play by the artist's rules, nor does it rip them off just because it can."

"While I agree that nudity shouldn't be a problem, something I absolutely don't want is to give those screeching internet feminists any reason to bring up "objectification" more than they already do."

"Microsoft has done everything in its power to make the 360 the worst console on the market. No mean feat, considering that the Wii goes through worse droughts than the Gamecube and the nicest way to describe Sony's management of the last six years is "comical." Having to wait on the XMB to load is pretty annoying, but it's worth it for a Netflix app that doesn't take 20 minutes to start."

"Dragon Age 2- Bioware craps right in my mouth.

Call of Duty- The same as it ever was.

Deux Ex- Oh my God JC, a bomb!"

""The Elder Scrolls has its own rich mythology, but let’s face it, there’s not much that distinguishes it from the standard Dungeons & Dragons/Tolkien template that has dominated the fantasy genre for decades."

Allow me to show you a passage from the TES wiki about the Imga, a race created in the series' early days:

"The Imga, or Great Apes, are native beastfolk of Valenwood. They see the Altmeri as their lords and masters and as a portrait of an ideal, civilized society. Imga go to desperate measures to emulate the Altmeri: they wear capes, practice with the dueling sword, and attempt to speak with perfect enunciation and courtly manners despite their gravelly, baritone voices.

Each Imga bears some kind of title, be it Baron, Duke, Earl, or the like, which they use when addressing the members of the Thalmor, however there are no land-owning Imga. More extreme Imga shave their bodies and powder their skin white to seem more like the Altmeri. The Imga feel that Men are beneath them as lesser beastfolk and pretend to find their smell exceedingly offensive: when Men are around, Imga hold perfumed corners of their capes to their noses."

In summary, The Elder Scrolls series contains a race of sentient apes that imitate the stuffiest of the elves. Successfully. I dare you to find me that D&D module."
