"00% agree with you on the music and the couple of things it did to innovate. Like you, I absolutely loved Mystic Quest when it came out (I would have been 9). I chose this as my first Retro Review because I had such fond memories of this game. It was a lot of fun as a younger gamer but it just doesn't hold up to the likes of the Core Final Fantasy series like I remember it. Glad you liked the blog, I think I am close to getting it the way I want it to be aesthetically and now I just have to start pumping out content (which I'll always be posting simultaneously there and at BitM"

"ote]you know there is this wonderful feature that MS made available. It is called the Avoid button. If you don't like a player due to the way they speak or play you simply avoid them or mute them as well. Yes you can mute them so please try these methods as well which will enhance your gaming pleasure.[/quote] I wish a giant note would pop on the screen of those people who get muted. If they realized that the entire team has now put that person on mute, then maybe they wouldn't act like such idiots the next"

"lso have all three. I have my 360 in the bedroom and the PS3 as my media hub in my living room. I use both to stream videos from my home server. I haven't played much on either PS3 or 360 as Punch Out has been taking up a lot of my free time. I think I like the PS3 more than my 360, but I am not huge into online gaming and I know that 360 is usually the platform of choice. Also, the Pixel Junk games are absolutely amazing and I think that the PS3 has better downloadable titles than th"

"m also a long time Nintendo Fan and I am really enjoying what the Wii has to offer. I have all three consoles and my console of choice changes on almost a monthly basis. Right now, it is definitely Wii with Punch Out!!! This is the perfect mix of casual/hardcore and adds a nostalgic flair. I had my brother, sister, and friend over on the weekend and we were passing around the controller trying to take down Great Tiger in title defense mode and we had a blast doing it. I do understand where many people with your viewpoint are coming from, but there are plenty of titles out there for the hardcore. However, you're seeing Nintendo promote games that aren't necessarily hardcore and I think that is where this misconception is coming from. We have New Super Mario Bros Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid: Project M, Golden Sun (granted that it is not for Wii), Final Fantasy, confirmation of a new Zelda and Pikmin 3 all on the horizon. We also have seen Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and a Zelda title already released for the Wii (the three core franchises in my opinion). There are also games like Fire Emblem that aren't core franchises but hardcore games. I think the old school Nintendo fan are being serviced quite nicely, I just think those fans have had changes in taste over there years. People who loved Super Mario for the NES now get excited for games like Gears of War. Those types of games have never been Nintendo's forte, but because these people grew up on Nintendo they believe that is the direction they should be going because that is where the mainstream hardcore gamers wants. Unfortunately for some of us, the hardcore gamer is now the niche gamer in our ind"

"t is a very interesting perspective you have on this. I think that Nintendo is still going to rule the roost however. Motion+ is cheap enough that they can bundle it into the software without having to increase the purchase price, I don't think we'll be able to say that about the other two devices. I think you'll really see a divide once the next gen systems are released and have these controls as sta"
