"Hello Jason! You should thank the internet for bringing people together, I'm sure you got fans in even the most remote of places. Also, brain somehow associated your comment with your voice from the podcast, so I "heard" you say that comment. It's either that or I'm finally losing it. xD
My first foray into Dungeon Crawlers was Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey. I can't recall any old ones from my youth.
YES! I've played Demon's Souls, love it. I'm not that very good at it, unfortunately.
Roguelikes you say? I played Nethack over and over again till I beat it. IT WAS HELL! But it was worth it, I enjoyed every moment of it. I've played some modern ones like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, the Chocobo games and Torchlight (at a friend's I don't own a copy). I enjoy them immensely, they're an outlet for my obsessive nature."

"Helllloooooooo!!! Nice to meet you too! Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to tag it. ;D
By the way, forgive me if I'm all over the place, I've been battling sleep trying to type that. It's almost 4am here! xD"

You made me go out and buy the game, which I wasn't planning to-do. I was turned off by the synth and chiptunes, and the battle system was hinky. I have no nostalgia for these kinds of things even though I used to play on my uncle's NES and SNES, till I got my Sega Mega Drive II and Original Gameboy.
The music grew on me as I played the game, but I have to agree with Jason; The battle system reminds me a lot of Person 3's. Which is why I held off playing it, till P3P came, and skipped over to P4. I'm not saying it's as horrible as that, at least you can choose the characters' commands, but I'm worried about the later stages in the game when the fights get difficult.
So far, I'm enjoying it and got used to the battle system. "
