Hello! I thought I might do one of these Meet the Mob things, so here goes...
Name: Melissa Watson
Age: Wouldn't you like to know! ;P
Profession: College Student and Sterilization Technician
Hometown: Tacoma, WA
Current Systems: PS2, DS Lite, iPod Touch, GCN, Xbox
I was introduced to gaming at very young age. I was probably 4 or 5 when my uncle got a Nintendo64 for his graduation. I used to sit next to him and watch him play Mario Kart 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. All I remember is thinking that I wanted to play that. I'd go to my other uncle's house and sit all day playing video games. My dad bought the first Myst for our PC and I watched him play for a while and decided to play it myself. I had to leave all the lights on because the music scared me! It was these events in my life that really cemented my love of gaming. One of my girl friends also likes video games. I'll never forget sitting at the computer together trying to play through Riven and constantly fighting over the mouse. (We still can't play games together!)
I've been gaming ever since. After EGM died, during my time of grief, I found Bitmob. I love the atmosphere here; everyone can contribute without getting overly criticized.
I enjoy writing and reading and drawing. I hope that in the future I can work on stuff with other Bitmobbers! I was going to include some of my drawings, but something horrible has happened to my scanner. Oh well,,,maybe later.
Three Adjectives to Describe Me: Hmmm. Outspoken, artistic....and relaxed.
Talents: I'm a pretty decent writer of fiction and poetry. I also started writing for my college newspaper, so I've had a chance to work on interviewing people and writing news. I draw well, and I love photography. I'm good at baking, but less so with cooking.
Personality: I tend to be quiet around strangers, but it doesn't take long for me to warm up to people I like. Once you get to know me, you'll find out I love to argue and I can be brutally honest. I've been that way since I was born. I'm not contradictory on purpose, but when I disagree I say it. I always respect others opinions though and I never try to be cruel or rude. I have a good sense of humor and I laugh easy. People say they like me because I'm laid back, but some think I'm not emotional enough. They don't realize I'm passionate and intense on the inside. This is getting long, so I'm moving on.
Things I Like: I love snowmobiling and sledding. In the picture above I'm second from the left. I love RPGs, especially tactical RPGs, and squad-based shooters. But I play pretty much every genre. Two of my favorite songs of all time are "Hallelujah" and "Sex and Candy." I have a really broad taste in music, so it's hard to pick favorite artists. And I read books. Voraciously. Also, I really love my cat. He thinks my food is his food.
So this is me, semi-condensed into a nutshell, for you to read! Look out for more stuff by me!

Welcome to Bitmob, Melissa! Glad to have you posting.
Thanks!
Welcome to Bitmob! Your cat is adorable. I've always been fond of floofy orange cats. Instead I have had a series of bitter black ones.
I've always had orange cats, for whatever reason. He's a sweetie. I can do whatever to him and he doesn't care. And he likes to be held like a baby!
Hallelujah is one of my favorite songs ever too! Cohen is the man.
If you hold your cat upside down, will he just lay there? That is the sign of a good cat.
I had an orange cat when I was a kid, he was the most bad-ass cat ever. He straight ran the streets of Albany. I miss Mr. President.
I want to pet your cat and very nice to meet you Melissa :).
Yay for Meet the Mob posts! Glad to get to know you!
Welcome to Bitmob, Melissa. Please feel free to write more posts and comment on anything.
Welcome and enjoy Bitmob ...
Welcome! More RPG fans FTW. Can't wait to read more.
Cool post. Makes me really want to go back and finish writing my own.
Awww, thanks guys!
I love Meet The Mob posts! Always great to get to know more Bitmobbers.
I also write for my college's newspaper. Where do you go to school?
Also, what's your cat's name?
I'm was going to Pierce College in Washington. But I won't be returning in the fall. I'm switching to a design school in Seattle.
My cat's name is Stanley!
