The hour's approaching to give it your best. You've got to reach your prime.

Video Blips:

• Dark Souls is gonna need a montage in this hardcore trailer. It's kind of like a Rocky movie -- if Rocky could only run about a block before a skeleton murdered him.

Hit the break for Max and the Magic Marker's arrival on the DS, madcap multiplayer in BurgerTime World Tour, and the developers of Dungeon Defenders explaining what makes their RPG more RPG than other RPGs.

• Max and the Magic Marker brings doodle-driven platforming to the DS this holiday. I have a DSi XL, so every game feels like I'm controlling it with a marker.

• BurgerTime World Tour presents its multiplayer offerings in this zany trailer. The one thing I never understood about this series -- other than the bit about the homicidal sentient food -- is that I could never tell if Peter Pepper was tiny or if he was preparing hamburgers for giants. Hey, how about a little backstory, developers? Where is my emotional center here, in the game about killer eggs?

• Do you like listening to descriptions of RPG mechanics? Good news! Dungeon Defenders producer Marc Singer does just that in this developer diary. Screens full of numbers confuse me, so I'll be over here taking a nap. Wait...did I see a Portal Gun AND a lightsaber? Game of the year.

Yeah, I don't know if I want to play Dark Souls. I already decided that a long time ago, but I'll say it again. Lol. It's almost too gruesome for me to handle.
