It looks like the industry is imploding under its own weight...but are we to blame?

Coach Aris Bakhtanians' actions toward competitor Miranda Pakozdi during a Street Fighter X Tekken competition, promoted as Cross Assault by Capcom, demonstrated a destructive attitude toward women who game. We shouldn't celebrate "traditions" like misogyny anymore.
"....Yes I'm serious! I promise you'll have a good time watching us play Mortal Kombat"
Thilina Bandara appreciates IGN's fine article, so he wrote an article about the article.
Thilina Bandara cared enough to play Crysis 2 in all her beautiful glory. Verdict: She's kind of stuck-up.

It's only taken 14 years to achieve the limitless joy of using an interactive urinal. Can you believe it?

Thilina Bandara reviews the Halo: Reach campaign because he doesn't have Xbox Live Gold at the moment. Send him money if you feel for him.

Money doesn't grow on trees, but I need a game. This article is about one of the many battles to come this year: Alan Wake vs. Red Dead fight for my money!

Mass Effect 2 is excellent, but in ways I didn't even think I could be impressed with in a game.

"That's a great analogy! I also feel that the leap that exists to Abercrombie & Fitch is still really high. At the same time it seems to me that the gap makes people not percieve A&F as a clothing store at all; like hardcore games aren't even games; even if in reality, they are sometimes no more complex than social games."

"Yes I agree. There was definately a lot of internal strangeness going on there it seems. I hope many other studios learn from this incident."

"Being bullied means being put into situations that you can't just turn-the-table, so to speak.

He's her coach/teammate and might as well be the head of Capcom in that room. What is she supposed to do? Lash out at him for making her feel uncomfortable in a tiny room with someone like that, being televised, while sitting in a position that a hundred-thousand other players wish they were in?

Based on the video, I think it's really safe to say that nobody in her shoes would have handled with with any more 'balls' than she did.

Thats kind of the whole problem here..."

"To the point on comedians, I agree to the most part, but its not the same thing here. What happened was not the equivalent of a comedian making a generalized lewd comment; it is more like a comedian picking out one person in the crowd, bringing them on stage, getting in her space and making her feel bad for literally existing as a woman.

So if people want to think of it as 'just' joking'....sure. But its a pretty weak joke, and it still doesn't make it ok when the one recipient of the hate is legit offended.

"Well! This is quite the firestorm.

Premature as it may be, what I absorb from what's out there is all I got!

It looks amazingly uninspired to me. That's my opinion. Call me pretentious if you must, but from even the media that has come out since me writing this, it looks like a gigantic helping of unfunniness; an exorbitantly high-budgeted parody movie, a la "Epic Movie".

What would you say if I were to poop on the new transformers movie based on the trailer? Prejudgment is THE POINT of them releasing media early for preview coverage. How is that invalid?

If it turns out to be amazingly innovative, then good for it. Then it would turn out that the demo footage, the promotions, the teasing, the spectacular story-arc of this game, were all a brilliant ploy that I took the wrong way.

Then I will be wrong. But for now, this is how I feel today. This moment in this game's existence deserves analysis...and right now it looks like an antiquated game."

"Yah I totally agree with both of you. I was very impressed with the way team mates moved and reacted in both Infinity Ward's games, and was largely frustrated with World at War's grenade-happy enemy AI.

The under-the-hood gameplay direction of the Treyarch Call of Duty games are just not up to snuff. If only Infinity Ward and Treyarch would combine their forces to make the next....

oh wait.*sad trombone*"

"Riley: Yah I can see how the last mission can be seen as anti-climactic, but I think I like the hoard style ending better than the escape missions. That just me though, I'm not really a fan of large scale, time sensitive event in games in general.

And yah, looking forward to your ending idea!

Bryan: In terms of memorable moments in the campaign, the most memorable for me were the time when the environments reminded me of other gaming experiences I had (I can specifically remember the COD-like sniper on a mountain moment, the Half-Life 2 episode 2 type terrain in one of the levels, the train that looked like it was out of one of the Alien movies I think). I hear legendary is ridiculously hard, but very rewarding. I might try that out too."
