EA recently announced their new plan to curb the sales of used games. Anyone who purchases a used copy of their upcoming sports games will have to purchase a $10 code from them to unlock the online features in the game. Do they have a right to punish the less fortunate gamers out there who need to buy used?

Metro 2033 may very well go down in history as one of the best games no one played. It will have a place in my heart next to Okami, Shadow of the Colossus, and many others. This game deserves to be played, and you need to shut up and get to it.

Being an early adopter of Apples iPod Touch, I rejoiced at the sight of so many downloadable games at my fingertips. For a long time I was happy with my purchase, but lately the App Store has become so competitive that it is ultimately hurting me, the consumer, instead of benefiting me. Especially when it comes to the coveted Descriptions page.

The funny thing to me is that I had an even bigger reaction to getting an N64 on Christmas day when I was 14 years old. I screamed, much like the kid in the video, and ran around the living room while my dog Cleo (RIP) chased me around barking and eventually tripped me. I went flying on the ground, got back up and resumed screaming my head off.

After opening up that N64 you would think no other present could top it that year, but I proceeded to open up a ton of games for it, each one better than the last. It is one of the greatest holiday memories. I also got a Dreamcast a few Christmas's later, but my reaction was calmed at that point (I was 16 after all). I then got a PS2 for my birthday, a DS for Christmas, a PSP for Christmas, a PS3 for Christams, and an Xbox 360.

I love my family, lol. I never had to buy my own console, which saved me a ton of money and allowed my to instead spend it on all of the games I want. At 26 years old today, I am afraid to think about how my life would be if I never got that N64 that Christmas morning.

I have been saying this for a long time. Gameflot profits off of the hard work of others, and doesn't even bother to give credit where credit is due. Almost every single game they have made directly rips off a much more popular franchise. I was actually planning on writing an article on Bitmob much like this one a few weeks ago, but Christmas shopping got in the way and you beat me to it.

I only have two things I disagree with in this article. One, is that the Gameloft games, especially their FPS's, control great. And second, their games, while souless ripoff's that completely miss the point, are usually fun. I do not agree that they are bad or have control problems. With auto aim turned off, I can whip around and nail headshots in Gamelfot's Modern Combat without blinking and with more accuracy than I would get on a console.

There is not a single orignal person of thought in the entire company. They are a business designed to wait for what is popular, copy and paste, and profit. Yet, for what they do, they do it well.

I didn't update either, and spent about 80 hours into the world of New Vegas. I completed a massive chunk of the game, and only ran into a few glitches. One being that my characters neck grew about 3 feet, and was dragging on the floor as I walked. People complain about it being so glitchy, but almost every single game I played this year was more gltiched out than New Vegas was for me.

No missions were glitched, no characters were glitched, no one fell through the floor (except an enemy once very early in the game), nothing went missing, etc. Even the frame rate stayed solid throughout the entire thing. I played it on the 360, despite the fact I pre ordered it for the PC. The girl who took my pre order wrote down the wrong system, and I didn't want to wait two days for them to get the right one so I just settled.

First off, great read. Truly. Secondly, that first picture made me laugh so hard my ribs feel like they are about to crack. I am pretty focused when it comes to games. In other words, I can only think of one time where I put a game down in complete frustration.

Blacksite: Area 51. Towards the end, you are driving a truck around this big open area. I could not find where they game wanted me to go. An hour later, I took the disk out and threw it in the trash.

I want to play this game for the single player, and I honestly don't think I could possibly care any less about the multiplayer. I just hate how every game nowadays takes precious time and resources out of single player in order to fund multiplayer. Why? So you can throw it on the back of the box and get another few thousand sales??

EVERYONE who buys their game will be able to play the single player. Not everyone will be able to play the multiplayer. Why waste your time if you are never going to be able to compete with the big boys anyway? 50% of people who buy the game won't even be connected online. For the fifty percent who are connected, half will try the game online. For the 25% of people who try the game online, half will stick around for more than 2 matches.

Is spending all that money on multiplayer instead of the single player, which everyone can play, really worth it for 12.5% of gamers? If the game sells 2 million copies, they are only going to get around 250,000 playing online for a few matches before going back to CoD, Halo and Bad Company 2.

What a waste.

I knew it, I knew it! I swear I called it over a decade ago. I was playing the original Metal Gear for the NES and I said "This guy is going to make a game about flying shit, just you watch".

I do go back and play the original Goldeneye often, and I find it just as fun today as I did back then. I think people assume it will suck because games have come a long way, but they never go back and see for themselves and just assume the worst. It is still a great game.

Whenever a developer goes back to revive a dead franchise everyone always says the same thing. "It can't be done, it will never be as good as the original". I just don't think ANY developer would be stupid enough to even attempt to improve a classic. They just have hope they can release something fun, and benefit off of people's memories.

Goldeneye is a fun game on the Wii. The problem is, it is not Goldeneye, like you said. It feels like CoD. That is fine, really, since I never expected them to replicate what made the original so great. They had to modernize it and the best way to do that is emulate what is currently popular at the moment. This is exactly what EA did with Goldeneye: Rogue Agent. It is a complete rip off of Halo, which was at the top of its game back then.

I always wondered about this. Developers have to be between a rock and a hard place with mods for their games. On one hand, they have to keep a close eye on everything, and it must be hard to watch all the work you have spent so much time on get manipulated for better or worse. Then again, a involved mod community could really extend the life of a game and even sales.

Man I sunk a lot of hours into this game on my PC when I was younger. I was so good at it that I was able to beat it in record time. I still have it, although I don't think I would be able to play it again. I still have the script memorized though!

Right on. I am 26 and I spent 4 years in high school not playing video games. Why? Well, I thought that I was too old and I should be focusing on my future....Yeah, it turned out that without video games I was just bored all of the time. I did not feel like myself. After I graduated, I popped in a game in a recently purchased PS2 and never looked back....again.

It turned out that the 4 year break from gaming was the best thing I could have done. Games were fresh again. I felt whole again. It would be like someone quitting something they love, and then feeling empty. Yet, when you tell people that, they just say "It's only a video game". Yes, well obvisouly it is also something YOU have never attempted to experience, and if you truly think it is "only" a video game, you wouldn't mind me telling you the same about what you love. "Oh, you love Football, yes well it is only a game".

The problem I see most people battle with today is that video games are still not taken seriously. Even though gamers know that video games have come a long way since Pac Man, and that this industry is designed for people of all ages, not just children, most people outside of the industry have no respect for it. We let that disrespectful attitude towards gaming affect us. We convincec ourselves it must be true, when infact it isn't.

You wouldn't look down on someone for loving the film industry, or loving literature, or art. Why should I be ashamed or unsure of what hobby I love? I am not ashamed or unsure anymore, not for a long time. I finally realized what gaming gave me. It gave me the ability to be someone else. It let me save the girl and kill the bad guy. It gave me the ability to save the world, and solve impossible puzzles, and race around Paris, and become James Bond, and fight God's.

From the comfort of my couch, I can become anyone I want. And when I turn off the system and put down the controller, I look around the room and just...feel great. After all, after I just took down Zeus himself, no problem in the real world can hold me down.   ;)

Ha. I love Ratchet and Clank. To tell you the truth, I have been playing the Sly Cooper Collection lately and those are some great games! I never knew how fun they were, and I am glad Sony decided to release them. They always looked like kiddie games to me, but they aren't at all.
