A brief first impression of an even briefer hands-on 3DS demo.

"ust agree that Donkey Konga shouldn't be blamed for the demise of Donkey Kong, RARE leaving Nintendo to make bad 360 games should. I'm thinking that you are looking for platformers on the wrong console. DS has more then brought them back to life and some are as great as they've ever been. They've even managed to have a >gasp< good 2D Sonic side scroller. Check out the new Staffi game that was brought Stateside (although his name was bastardized in English to "Starfy", which I refuse to say because it sounds like a sound I make after drinking too much). I was also able to have some hands on time with the new New Super Mario for Wii at E3, at it just might be the platformer you've been dreaming of"

"slightly pains me to say this, but Pokemon really needs to cool it too. Or at least take a small step outside the box and release a true game in 3D (or maybe another Snap). I think that can be said for most of these series' though. Sequels are OK, but don't continue to make them tired rehashes of the previous titles. I understand that games cost too much to make anymore to take chances on new franchises, so I consider Live Arcade, PSN, and Wiiware the biggest blessing of current-gen features. I must end by saying, however, the consumers are to blame for this recycled crap-fest. If they weren't so eager to gobble up the next Need for Speed: Pro Most Wanted Shift Pursuit 2, then companies would be forced to be a tad more innovative"

"at list, but you seem to have forgotten a few:

Most Pathetic Attempt: OnLive's street team standing on the corner opposite of the convention center, begging people to take their lame beach balls and ignore the fact that they had nothing to show inside.
Creepiest Creepster in Attendance (Tie): Walter Day, aimlessly wandering around the entrance of the West hall, waiting for anyone to recognize/want to take a picture with him and then insist that they e-mail it to him.
The cluster of large men dressed in black protecting Verne Troyer and he scootered around the show floor (like anyone is going to go up and pick a fight with him).
And lastly, that douchy kid who slept on Brooke Hogan's couch during that one episode of her (terrible) show. In my defense, it was by boyfriend that recognized him. But seriously, why WAS he there, most of us had to, ya know, go to college and get industry jobs to be there. He was on a VH1 reality show for 10 minutes once...bravo.
Most Blatant Attempt to Poison Everyone(Yet Another Tie): POM Mocha ='s poison, NOS ='s poison, Gamer Grub (select flavors) ='s poison.
Most Dangerous Place to Enjoy a Cigarette: Outside the main entrance, getting stray Squeeballs pelting you in the back. And they weren't being lightly tossed, they were being lobbed with tennis racquets by clueless, pretty girls.
WORST.LINE.EVER. (T.I.E.): Waiting, like a lemming, for an hour to play Zelda: Spirit Tracks and get a dumb stylus that will sit and collect dust with the rest of my useless swag. (And to add insult to injury, I chose to play the railroad demo hoping it would be better then sailing in the previous iterations: and it's not.)
And waiting, like a famished lemming, for a free boxed press lunch, just to find out that it is also possibly poison; and THEN waiting in an equally long line at the cafeteria, to pay $12 on a lunch that was only slightly more palatable.

"Marvel Vs Capcom 2 (or 1, or Vs. Street Fighter...I'm not picky)
2) Star Wars Trilogy
3) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
4) Dragon's Lair
5) The Simpsons (not the EA crapfest)
