Game Settings Writing Challenge Deadline Extended to September 7

We've had several people chime in with insights into their settings of choice, but most people still haven't finished. In order to maximize the fascinating pieces to come out of this challenge, I'm extending the deadline to September 7. For reference, here are the topics people have claimed and who still needs to finish:

The Renaissance – Matt Polen (Completed)
Sci-fi horror – Danny Concepcion (Completed)
Rapture – Timothy James (Completed)
Zombie Apocalypse – Scott Deakin
Post-War Apocalypse – Jonathan Dodd
Wild West – Bruno Dion
School – Daryl Buano
Tartarus – Jonathan Oyama
Underground – David Welsh

And once again, here are the rules:

  1. Choose a setting you want to write about and claim it in the comments. Again, this locale can be something that's become conventional, or it can be a one-off jaunt to another world. Make sure you remember to claim a setting before writing about it.

  2. Write a piece analyzing this setting. Don't forget to discuss the quality of past uses of the setting and the potential for its future inclusion in new games. If you have an angle that will tie the piece together, that's all the better. Also, make sure it's under 1000 words.

  3. Post your piece to the Mobfeed using the tag “Bitmob Writing Challenge” by September 7.

aww. if I hadn't already written http://bitmob.com/articles/portal-2s-aperture-science-is-a-crappy-setting long before this I totally would have called that setting to write a similar article.

Oh, okay. Thanks for extending it. My schedule was pretty hectic this month, so I wasn't able to finish as much as I thought I would. Time to get cracking!

By the way, I finished mine. I don't know if you've looked at it yet.
