3 possible My Little Pony ideas Gameloft should avoid

Hasbro announced that Gameloft will make a mobile My Little Pony game! I am like a master when comes to predicting things. Unfortunately, since the game will be a mobile, free-to-play experience, my hopes for a Skylanders-esque pony project are totally dashed for the time being.

What's bothering me now is that Hasbro and Gameloft haven't said what style they're shooting for with My Little Pony. Gameloft's attempt at Oregon Trail was acceptable, but nothing the company makes really excites me.

But I'm still hoping Gameloft does something decent with the franchise. Here are a few predictions for what might be in a My Little Pony game, and I hope no one uses them.
1) Pony-branded minigames collection

This is, unfortunately, the most likely outcome. You can play word games with Twilight Sparkle in her library, count bunnies with Fluttershy in the forest, and repeatedly catch falling fruit as Applejack bucks tree trunks. The gameplay isn't very deep, nor the design that inspired, but it is a Pony-related video game that might keep a kid interested for a few minutes. This is also the easiest way to work all six of the main characters into one project.

2) Racing

Since Rainbow Dash is all about speed and being the best, why not a pony-centric racing game? What's sad is that I can see this happening, and I picture it looking like a kart racer with customizable horses instead of cars. Oh, you thought that cutie mark defines your personality? Nope, it's actually a symbol signifying how fast you are.

Rainbow

Ugh, no. Don't let this happen. I don't want to see chrome ponies and racing stripes.

3) Fashion

Rather than incorporating all the main characters, this Pony game would focus on Rarity and her clothing store. You would pass the time designing outfits for various customers and even putting some of your creations out on display. I'm thinking My Little Pony meets the DS title Style Savvy. Unlike my last two ideas, I'd totally play this one.

While I would play a Rarity-focused fashion game, I hope none of my ideas are ever considered as they are all one-dimensional. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic establishes a lot of character depth not found in the typical "girls cartoon." It isn't just a throwaway show, and I would hate to see any associated game turn into that.

Surprise me, Gameloft. I know you can do it.
