Has anyone ever released a special edition for a game that didn't come with an art book or a soundtrack? I doubt it.
News Blips:
Create your own Fable 3 villager. Xbox.com is allowing you to make your own nonplayer character for the Xbox 360's upcoming action role-playing game. You'll be able to generate a villager's appearance and personality. Of course, you'll need to preorder the game and redeem a code in order to get your creation into your game. [Kotaku]
Ys Seven set for August 17 release on PSP. I had no idea that there had been six Ys already, but Ys Seven is well on its way. The game will be available at retail and on the PSN store. A special edition will come packaged with an art book, the soundtrack, and a big cloth map. Well, at least one of those sounds interesting. [Joystiq]
Ex-Grin employees form Whiteout. Former members of the now-defunct developer Grin -- who were most well known for making last year's Bionic Commando -- have formed a new studio called Whiteout. They plan to release both downloadable and larger, retail games. It's always good to see ex-developers land back on their feet. [1UP]
New Fight Night won't support Kinect or Move. Boxing games seem as good a fit for motion controls as anything, but Fight Night Champion won't support either. Speaking to Eurogamer, gameplay producer Brian Hayes said that motion controls are "too twitch based" and that the long amount of standing required "might be beyond the fitness level of most gamers."
