iPhone games. It seems like everyone's making them these days -- or at least looking to!

Bitmob is about to join forces with Unity, creators of the Unity 3 engine, and a gaggle of other influential companies for a project that will shed some light on the development process. But we need your help!

Although we can't spill all the beans until you're under a non-disclosure agreement, the concept behind Project Mob is that we will document the development of an indie iPhone game built with the Unity engine. Art, sound, game design...it's already taken care of. Now we just need someone to code it!

We want to start small for our first game, so even if you're not the Rainman of coding, this may still be a perfect opportunity for you to gain both experience and exposure.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • The ability to develop a simple but stylish game app using the Unity 3D engine
  • The ability to create turn-based online multiplayer games a la Words/Chess with Friends
  • The ability to implement Greystripe ads and OpenFeint/Game Center achievements and leaderboards
  • You must be located preferably in or around the San Francisco Bay Area

If you or your team fit that description or are at least close enough and confident enough to apply, send your resume and your portfolio to sebastian.haley [at] bitmob.com. A link to a game you've already made is infinitely better than a list of coffee houses you worked at while earning your degree.

Our start date is August 1 or sooner, with a target release date of October 25, so while this project is simple enough to bang out and run through QA in two months, you will need to work hard on this.

Payments will be made to you at the beginning, middle, and end of the project. More opportunities will follow immediately upon the completion of this game if both parties are interested in moving forward together.
