One of the reasons  for the high cost of controllers in my opinion is the fact that once you buy one they can last you for a really long time. Much like rechargeable batteries, I assume stores and console makers figure that they need to get your money up front.

This is a really cool post. I recently got rid of all of my single issue comics, I had four long boxes. The reason was twofold: They were taking up a lot of space and I am never going to revisit them in their current single issue form. My hope is that as hard drives grow in size and game developers get a little more lenient on what I play their games on, I can just rip all my games to a device that would allow me to have full access to all of my games at anytime.Thirty years seems like a enough time for Capcom  not care about me ripping my copy of God Hand so I can show me kids what games were like back in my day.

I feel really bad for not giving this game a chance. The Darkness was one of my first PS3 games, and I think I was in the mood for something more traditional at the time. This article makes me want to revisit it.

I can not wait for Rockband 3. I know a lot of people have expressed music game fatigue as late, but the Rockband games have been a shining example of how to do co-op gameplay and post release dlc in a smart and fun way.

I think it is really tough for the genre. Music games continue to get better for the most part, and games like DJ Hero show that many other types of music are under recognized.  I personally love the Rockband games. They are some of the best games ever made. The only thing I really want to see in Rocknad 3 is a pause and countdown after you jump back into a song. This was in Beatles Rockband and I would love for it to be in Rockband 3.

@Brett that sounds like a very cool idea. A game like Gears of War could use that kind of fresh game mechanic.

@Chris You raise a good point. I just find myself becoming bored with the superhero after while. It can be really fun in short burst, but I think you will agree that the best heroes are define by their weakness. Almost all of my friends hate Superman because he has no really weakness.

@Lance you owe all the credit for that title to Evan. It was his idea.

"ike the idea of introducing games to your child. Might I recommend Katamari Damacy, it has simple control and a pretty happy vibe. I don’t know if you have considered making it a part of your quest"

@Daniel I never thought of it that way.

@Tim@Steven we should give Heavy Rain credit as a "game" for the things it did do. Heavy Rain totally does away with the idea of Fail States. You have to give it credit for that. I really love the idea that even if you die the story takes a different path. You are not just stuck with a game over screen. You talk to for four people about Heavy Rain and you will have four different story lines.

Also I really like the idea of a game having it's end goal  something as small as fining your son. You don't save the world or the universe. I want more games to follow this path. Not every major console game has to be a Summer blockbuster.
