Conceptually, Homefront is a promising game with a few really cool stand-out moments, but one that ultimately suffers from being embarrassingly short despite being rushed out the door way too soon.

I recently tried to rekindle the passion I once had for Halo, but it's just not going to happen.

"I'm so not on board with the Nathan Fillion hype. Look up the guy's track record. His movies are garbage. Mark Wahlberg is an underrated actor. He's handsome and athletic (like drake) - I have faith he'll pull off the role..the talent is there. Timothy Oliphant is an outstanding actor who had the misfortune of being cast for Hitman, a movie with a terrible script and so-so director. Watch the HBO original series Deadwood if you want to see Oliphant in a convincing role.
My point is at the end of the day the actor won't matter as much as the director and script. Seeing as how the creator of Deadwood is doing the Uncharted movie, and Wahlberg is portraying Drake, I feel like this project has promise."

"Loved the Harry Potter MMO ideas - I'd definitely play that game. No offense to Ben, he seems like a super nice guy, but I feel like if he's on the show again, and I hope he is, moderate him a bit. I suspect he might like the sound of his own voice. "

"Justin,
Please don't take my review opinions personally..they are MY opinions. I still think the caves and night levels look bad compared to the rest of the game. Funny you should write, I just got through beating the campaign on hard mode tonight. Perhaps you thought I hate the game. I don't. I preordered it and got it on launch day. I think it's a fun game, I just take offense to how they marketed the game versus my own knowledge of America's elite forces.I still think the darker lit levels look like shit. Thus my original sentiments that Danger Close could have done better with light sourcing and texture work in the caves. In fact the frostbite engine rendered game play (aka the multiplayer) looks tons better than the UE3 engine bullshit. UE3 is archaic, but it can look much better than Danger Close's half assed, rushed work with it (Gears of War anyone?).
US Army Rangers might display a certain level of bravado as they are enlisted men, but tier 1 operatives and Navy SEALs are much more professional and don't approach mission objectives as a sunday night football game. Any civilian can enlist.....including your local high school football hero. It takes more than muscle flexing to become somebody the government trusts to undertake the most sensitive of special missions that civilians and media will never catch wind of. Your average T1 operative or SF soldier will not behave like the "GET SOME!!!" shouting soldiers you see in you tube videos of USMC grunts and Army riflemen. If you ever see a youtube video of a bunch of SEALs rushing toward a Taliban stronghold yelling GET SOME!! and spraying the battlefield with bullets, let me know. I'd love to see that.
I do not care to discuss my own military involvement.
Thanks."

"I personally can't stand click to aim/zoom. Left trigger zoom / right trigger shoot seems so much more intuitive. I got used to the controls pretty quick though.
Whatever happened to games that let you map your own buttons? "

"I don't hate Halo, I just hate the hype surrounding it in relation to my own experience of the games and what I got out of them. I've played them all through to completion with the exception of ODST and the RTS. Would somebody who hates Halo take the time to play through Halo 3 and purchase Reach on its launch date? There are plenty of franchises I enjoy but absolutely loathe the hype they generate (Call of Duty for example). I just chose Halo because it's the most hyped one of them all. All you hardcore Halo fans need to chill out.
You might be pleased to read that I completed Reach over the weekend, on Heroic, and I very much enjoyed it. And for what it's worth I feel like it's the best Halo game to date. "

"could be that I don't know my way around XBL and parties, but I experienced a lot of waiting around for certain bitmob staffers to pick gameplay types, or else I couldn't join parties already in progress, with open slots yet "join party" was greyed out. That's okay though. I really hate Halo."

The last game with puzzles that stumped me were a couple of glyph puzzles from Assassin's Creed II or Brotherhood (I think it was Brotherhood). After spending about 30 minutes on one I'd decided to just swallow my pride and look online. Apparently I'm really good at solving spatial 3D puzzles like those in Uncharted, but some of the more mathy and sequence recognition puzzles in Assassin's Creed are more of a challenge to me. Must be the math hating artist in me.
I like Uncharted's puzzles - the break from all the shooting and climbing, peeking in Drake's journal to seek out clues, etc.&nbs;"
