Next week is "Horror Week" on Bitmob.com. Part of our week-long celebration of scary-type things is an all-horror-related Mobcast with special guest, Tomm Hulett, a producer for the upcoming Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

Long story short: We need a good community topic for next week's show. It should be related to horror/scary games, but other than that one restriction, you're free to ask anything. Send your topic to letters@bitmob.com or via the comment section in this story, but don't wait long -- we're recording the episode tomorrow.

We look forward to reading all of your submissions. Thanks!

What horror game has actually forced you to turn it off because it was too scary? or a slight variation: What horror game has made you scream like a girl with fear?

I'd like to hear a discussion on games with effective use of psychological horror (as opposed to straight-up shock or gore.) I want to hear about all of the insidious, creepy, or just plain wrong things that disturbed the hell out of you and left a lasting feeling. What games truly messed with your head? I remember the first time I played the original Silent Hill, and how much I tensed up every time I heard radio static, and how some of the monsters in that game were just freakish. I feel drawn to games that mess with my head more than just the games that make you jump or show gratuitous blood and guts.

Could you compare/contrast the origins of horror games to their current counterparts? How have things changed? How have things stayed the same? What makes games scary?

Do you think that motion controls will add new dimensions to horror games? Do you think the interactivity introduced by motion controls will make survival horror experiences more scary, less scary or do you think they'll largely remain the same regardless?

Which horror movie did you learn the most from?

Do you think that the level of fear you experience while playing a horror video game comes from the strength of the 'enemy' or the weakness of the player's character? Or is it from something entirely different, such as seeing similarities between a protagonist and yourself?

Do you think having tight and responsive controls in your game makes it less scary? I believe as games gain better combat mechanics and slicker controls they become more action than horror, do you agree to any degree? Some of the scares in the older generation games came from the fixed camera angles and stiff controls. I felt somewhat gimped instead of now in a game like Dead Space where I always feel like I'm in complete control of a situation.

What changes would we like to see to the survival horror genre in the coming years? Also is there any game you think could of done better if given more time or resources? 3 hours ago · Delete

Why wont any developers make real survival horror games anymore? Why do so many now feel that if they are trying to scare players they also have to include combat and player empowerment. Player empowerment destroys any and all chances of being actually scared. Dead Space for example was never scary because you are constantly lugging around an arsenal of guns and ammo/health was always available.

How about, "What games have scared you?" That way, we aren't limited to horror games, and can have a laugh at (or a fond remembrance of) those elements that got to us in ways we weren't expecting. If I may begin, the Re-Deads in Ocarina got me with that shriek that plays when they freeze you.
