Sure, Microsoft announced Halo 4 at the end of E3, but I personally thought Microsoft focused on their casual market a little bit to much.
While Microsoft showed off some hard core Kinect games like Kinect: Star Wars, Fable The Journey, and Ryse. They also showed things that you know we don't care about like Kinect Disneyland Adventures and Sesame Street Kinect.

It's understandable that Microsoft wants their casual games to be seen by people, but they need to find a different way to show off these games outside of E3. Casual games simply don't have a lot of reason to be shown at a gaming expo designed for hardcore gamers.
Though I find things like having YouTube, Bing, and Local TV Channels cool, there was probably too much time spent on entertainment outside of Video Games. Gamers can get excited about these things sure, but people wanted to see more of the games like Halo: CE Anniversary Edition, and Gears of War 3.
This year's E3, however was definitely more focused on hardcore games than last years was. And I think you'll easily see an improvement if you look hard enough for it.
Do you really need to be reminded of some of the things from last years E3?
Microsoft will still need to put effort into their casual market, just much less at E3.Since their press conference has improved since last year, maybe next year Microsoft will be even more focused on the hardcore game market and we will see more hardcore games using Kinect in new and clever ways.
