I spotted this sweet Super Mario Bros.-themed graffiti on the side of the 101 freeway near my house in Los Angeles, CA. I'm a big fan of video-game-inspired street art, so I made it my mission to photograph this piece.

Getting to it felt like a game in itself. Between navigating the East Los Angeles Interchange to track down the exact location of the tag and then strolling past a homeless camp on a small grassy plot of land adjacent to the freeway off-ramp to photograph it, I had quite the adventure.
I love how Luigi, donning a long cape, feathered fedora, and gold bling, looks like some kind of plumber pimp. Perhaps fire flowers help him drop it like it's hot? Check out that nearby, creepy Lakitu and Fawful from the Mario & Luigi RPG series on the far right.
As for the rest of the piece, unfortunately, I'm not terribly graffiti literate to translate what that combination of slimy, green letters means. My best guess is the artist might be named something like "Biser Sims 4KP MAK." Oh, and now I’m obligated to tell you that graffiti as an act of vandalism is a crime, and we here at Bitmob don’t condone it, blah blah blah.
