Itemized Promiscruity

So I'm a man and I'm bound by primordial urges. I have needs. Now, often these needs manifest in a digital libido that just needs to be satiated. Lets just call it loot lust.
Now I'm a recovering WoW addict and while there are many reasons to play said MMORPG, one for me seemed to originate from this loot lust. Going on raids, gaining rep, farming mats all so I could get that epic purple with a solid item level and run around Dalaran with my new pixel codpiece. Its quite sick and satisfying to look at the guy next to you and realize that my piece is bigger and has better stats.
But I've quit that stuff, my epic tanking gear long in my past. However, I've run into another game that's tickled that long dormant loot lust, the Shooter RPG Borderlands. Claiming to have a bazillion guns, Borderlands is filled with a bevy full of loot for me to get my grabby little hands on. Most of the stuff you'll come across in Borderlands is junk, but when you finally find that new gun that is better than the one you have, its an exhilarating experience as you pump your enemies full of electric lead with your new shotgun with an elemental bonus. Yet, here's the thing about Borderlands that turned my loot lust limp, causing me to sit back and often think instead of pouncing on that new orange level gun. Just because the stats are better does not mean it is a better gun. Like a man pursuing a woman for her personality, my gun taste in Borderlands tended to gravitate towards guns I enjoyed using and best suited my play style, as this game is a shooter above all. For example, I'm a bit of a spastic shooter, therefore I need a scope and a fast reload time, so a favorite gun in my arsenal was a shotgun with a ridiculous fast reload speed and nice scope. Now it wasn't the most powerful shotgun but it was quick like a bunny, pumping away its six round clip, only to reload almost instantly so I could continue my wanton shooting, eventually leaving everything dead. It was a gun I liked and even when better looking or more powerful guns came along I stayed true to my shotgun. I was a monogamous (but don't tell the shotgun I had a nice sniper rifle, electric magnum, and assault rifle in my arsenal too, like I said I have needs).

The stats maybe mostly random when it comes to the gun drops in Borderlands, but the amount of add-ons and stats produce a bazillion different guns types and small things like the scope a gun has or the reload speed can make or break even prettiest looking gun.  So don't worry, you'll find the gun that completes you in Borderlands. Call me a hopeless romantic but a shotgun with minimal reload speed, a 3x zoom scope, and white plated exterior helped me give up my scoundrel ways and conquer my loot lust. Thanks Bertha, my loyal shotgun.
