Musical Montage of NES Deaths

Mikeminotti-biopic
Sunday, December 27, 2009

As I was a young kid who sucked at video games during the NES era, this video brings back a lot of good (but painful) memories. Setting it all to music from Dr. Mario only adds to the greatness:

Remember those days when it was likely that you'd never beat any of your games? Now we live in a time where Mega Man 10 has to have an easy mode. Oh, the shame of it all.

Somehow I knew Battletoads was going to make the cut...

If I had my way, that'd be a montage of nothing BUT Battletoad deaths. Don't get me wrong, I love the clip as is, but Battletoads dominates my NES memories for a very good reason... My sister and I played that game for YEARS because our uncle got the Game Genie for us and we always played with infinite lives on. (I still remember the code: GXXVVLVI. It's burned into the inside of my skull, I'm sure of it.) It'd boil down to one of two scenarios, A: We'd make it to level 3 and crash into things on our speeder bikes forever, or B: We'd get to level 6 and toss each other into spike pits off of giant snakes. What fun...

Dr. Mario music makes death catchy! I like how they added in a few of the death sounds from other games too.

That video was absolutely fantastic. Can't even imagine how long it took to compile and time all that footage.
