Sure, the original Game Boy brought portable gaming to the masses, but technically it was just more portable than what was out at the time. Ever try fitting one of those things in your pocket?!

News Blips:

The Nintendo Game Boy (you know, the clunky, green screen one from the '80s) is being inducted into the National Toy Hall Of Fame. This is the second video game console to earn the recognition of the Strong Museum of Play, the first being the Atari 2600. May we suggest finding your old Game Boy and cracking open a 4-pack of AAs to celebrate? [Kotaku]

Developer Media Molecule has no plans to make a sequel to Little Big Planet. Level Designer Danny Leaver has stated recently that a sequel would be "counterproductive" to the way things are already going with LBP's user-generated and expandable content, and the PSP port. Fine. It looks like consumers' hard earned cash will have to go to other franchises that are willing to pump out yearly, slightly improved sequels. [1UP]

Dragon Quest 9 (which is only available in Japan) is so popular that it sold more copies between July and Sept. of this year than any other game worldwide. A Top Global Markets report claims that over 3.9 million copies of the portable installment have been purchased. This suggests that 1 out of every 33 people in Japan owns a copy of this game. Crazy. [Joystiq]

A seller on eBay has put a box for the NES prototype of New Kids on the Block Official Video Game (with no actual cartridge) up for bidding. The seller alleges that the box was previously owned by a "major video game magazine." Maybe Shoe has some insight into this.... [Destructoid]

I've been to the Strong Museum. Not nearly as cool as it sounds.

Touché. There's nothing that [i]Link's Awakening[/i] can't fix. Put the 'fun' back in 'funeral'.

according to the Player One podcast, Andy Baran used to own that NKOTB box, and had it on his desk at EGM.

@Ben. Really? How funny. I was just joking that it might have belonged to someone EGM but I'm not surprised.
