I'm experiencing withdrawal from my greatest addiction: sleep. Symptoms include deep sleepiness and imaging that objects and people are beds. You look like the most enticing Craftmatic adjustable mattress right now....
News Blips:
Platinum Games is developing Metal Gear Solid Rising. Wait! No, it's not. Or is it? Well, if it were being developed by Platinum Games, you would expect Solid Snake's father and Platinum Games' main dude would know about it. "So this rumor has also come to Japan," a tweet from Konami VP Hideo Kojima read. He was responding to a story that Platinum Games' designer Hideki Kamiya had shared on the social networking site. That seems like they could be working together, but that doesn't seem to be the case. "But it would be nice if it were true," Kojima tweeted. Unless Hideo is up to some sort of mind game -- which I would never doubt him capable of -- I think this rumor can be punched with the Mythbuster's "Busted" stamp. [AndriaSang]
The Witcher 2 1.1 patch arrives with a DRM-removing bang. Developer CD Projekt RED issued the update and has pried the game from SecuROM's digital rights management. The fix also includes a performance boost which increases the efficiency by up to 30 percent. Don't worry, PC gamers -- this doesn't mean you won't have anything to complain about. When the rumored console version of The Witcher 2 arrives, you can moan about those naive fools who don't even know what DRM means.
Sega plans on rebooting one of its Genesis-era franchises. If I were to mention "a Sega series whose golden days are long behind it," well, you'd probably say Sonic. But no, that's not right -- the one with more combat. No, not Golden Axe! This is hopeless, so I'll just tell you. It's Shinobi. The reboot of the series -- which will likely be called The Shinobi -- is being developed for the 3DS by Griptonite Games. The game will keep its 2D, side-scrolling gameplay that was made famous by Revenge of Shinobi.
Valve gets all generous and releases the Portal 2 soundtrack for free. The album, titled "Songs to Test By," features 22 of the game's many musical moments. Unfortunately, the end theme isn't included, but still...free. Try not to be ungrateful. Valve has put the download link up on the Portal website, ThinkWithPortals. While you are there, check out their Portal-themed Android and iPhone compatible ringtones.
