The Best Street Fighter Web Series You're Not Watching

Editor's note: The headline's right; I wasn't watching this Web show, but it's pretty good if you're looking to up your Street Fighter game.... -Demian

Cross Counter, hosted by Gootecks (a tournament player and event organizer) and Mike Ross (who recently placed fourth at Evolution 2010, the world's largest fighting game tournament, playing as E. Honda), is basically ESPN post-game commentary for Super Street Fighter 4 matches. Why is this significant? Well, if you like Street Fighter, you can get into the mind of a pro and improve your game. And if you don't know much about Street Fighter, you can learn what makes the matches so interesting and see why 30,000 people were watching Evolution 2010 over the Internet (not to mention the thousands of entrants and on-site viewers).

Give it a look and see if it doesn't make fighting games a little more appealing.

I'm not super hardcore into fighting games and actually get IRRITATED by the uppity arrogance of a lot of tourney players (rage quits are immature, k thx), but I think the fighting genre may be my most favorite in general, and despite not being a SF fan ever, Street Fighter 4 got me hooked for some reason. I got SSF4 day one and a fight stick to go with it. I've been occupied with other games for the past couple of months but generally I will pick up SSF4 for abiout 2-3 hours a week, and I love the fact that fighting games like this can be analyzed like sports because the same elements of a sport are in place. They're all GAMES, after all!

Front page status? Awesome!

Eddy, I have to say that I'm the same way. There are a ton of great games out there, but I've always fallen back to Street Fighter. Even more after the release of Super Street Fighter IV. Something about that game just feels right.

Before I watch this, I need to know how many sticks Gootecks throws in this episode, rounded to the nearest Hori.
