Why Do Alternate Realities Always Seem More Exciting Than Real Life?

When you've played video games since the Internet was in green, monochrome, ASCII characters, you realize just how many alternate realities you've seen come to life. I alone am responsible for Asia taking over the world in the Dark Ages and Russia winning the space race -- not to mention the destruction of Hitler in an Iron Man suit and his occult-loving nazis.

Finally, someone has looked back at how interactive digital experiences influence fake history and made a pretty cool timeline of Earth's past if the games we love dictated actual events.

Most of the history lesson is tongue-in-cheek, of course, but I think the trip from 490 B.C. to present day would have been a lot more fun if it did include a Dragon Age. Check out The Kartel for the entire list.

This is the first time I've seen something like this on the Internet. It is well done but I wish more events were included on the list..

This is the first time I've seen somebody link to The Kartel on purpose.

The Kartel article. . .there is a grammar mistake in the first sentence.
