#1 is unmistakeable! I actually never played it, but I remember sitting around my older brother and his friends as they tried to beat that game.
I've never been able to complete #2, so that background was lost to me.

#8 seems pretty generic, but I couldn't come up with even one guess. I was sure #9 was NOT Elaine Marley, but that's the only name that came to mind. And I usually find better things to play than war games, so #10 could've been anybody.
