Puzzler: Identify the save points

Losing all your lives in a video game and having to start from the beginning is no fun. Passwords make dying less frustrating, but nobody wants to interrupt a heated gameplay session to write down long, confusing letters or symbols. Thank goodness for battery backups and memory cards.

Many designers get creative and make unique saving spots that go along with the title's genre and atmosphere. Take a look at the following save points and name the games they are from.

Well, I got the first four plus Dead Rising. Would have liked to see my favorite save point, though - the blue crystal from Tomb Raider! Hits the ole nostalgia button - remembering telling my parents "I CAN'T do my chores! I gotta find a save point!" Kids these days have it rough, what with all the ole' save whenever you wants...

haha, yeah when my wife tells me to shut er down and come to bed i say, "Just a second, I just gotta find a place to save."

But I'm playing Skyrim. I can save at any time. I'm a terrible husband.

Man, I totally forgot about the save crystals from Tomb Raider. You'll have a free point when I make a sequel to this Puzzler.

Boffed the last five.  Where's Travis Touchdown's toilet?!

Are there any games (other than those two) that have toilet save spots?

DeathSpank uses an outhouse.  Pretty close.

No way. Is that what #1 looks like? I thought I'd remember that sucker after all those hours!!

I lost my progress. I could only get #2, #3, and #4. Should have gotten #9, and definitely #1, but hey.

Also, where's Zohar? :)

That's definitely what #1 looks like. :)

I never played Xenosaga...or is Zohar from Xenogears?

Dang it. I got mostly all of the franchises right but way off on the actual game. Had no idea about the urinals though.

Saving your game by sleeping in a bed (Grand Theft Auto) makes more sense than using urinals, but everyone knows zombies are frightened by urine.

Four out of 10. I actually did pretty well, until I reached the urinals. I guess the restroom is a nice rest stop, though.

Zombies look like shit, but have you ever seen one go to the bathroom?

They're severely allergic to urinal cakes.

4/10.  I don't know how I knew Silent Hill and Dead Rising, as I've never played either of those, but I got those.  On the other hand, I don't know how I missed FF7, as I spent over 100 hours on that game.  I must've traded brain parts with someone.

That means you played #1 for over 100 hours straight...WITHOUT SAVING! You are a FF beast.

Only got first four, so 4/10 too...helps that I just finished another replay of Zero Mission (not that it's hard to forget).

No fair picking Ninja Gaiden 2's statues over Ninja Gaiden 1's! Wait...THEY'RE THE SAME STATUES!

I thought so too, but the dragon statues from the first Ninja Gaiden didn't have a floating ring around them, and the pedestals had a simpler desing. I promise to include visual proof when I get my computer fixed.

Missed 7 and 8.
