Are we there yet?

I have a terrible sense of direction, so I need a GPS (global positioning system) to get around. Some video games include handy charts to help us reach our destination. How many of the following maps can you recognize?

Map 1

Only 6/10, but I never played 3 of the other 4. Adjusting for the curve, I still win.

If you really wanted to mess with people, you could have used the map from Power Blade. Soooo nondescript. Six high tech buildings! Where to first? How about a high tech building!

Aw...that was a great map. I like the sector with the trees.

You can't see the sector for the trees, Samir.

Four out of 10. Yay. #10 is still my favorite map. Just three islands.

That game is also so much better than King's Quest 6. Some of those King's Quest characters are just plain...creepy.

I mixed #5 up with Donkey Kong Country. Man, I really don't have rosy memories of the old CGI days.

My goodness, that's a picture from Zak and Wiki! It's been years since I played that evil puzzle marathon. Hoo...

I was afraid no one would notice Zack in his cute, little pirate hat.

I like #9. Acme Looniversity looks good even in 8-bits.

You're right, #5 looks similar to DKC. Carlos Alexandre agrees with you.

Without checking comments:

1. Onett from Earthbound
2. The *INVERSE* castle map from Castlevania SotN
5. (guess) The first area in DKC1
7. (guess) World map from Mario and Luigi 1
8. World map from that Capcom-made Mickey game whose full name I can't remember on the SNES (the first one with the wizard, firefighter, and mountaineer costumes)

2 and 10 I knew for sure. I guessed 1 and 7 right even though I've never played those games!

I feel so bad.  I pegged #5 as Donkey Kong Country.  Didn't know 4, 6 or 8 at all.

I don''t think you're the only one who guessed Donkey Kong Country. Those cheap CGI sprites had a pretty distinct style to them. Lol.

I've never played any of these (too much Nintendo :). I did know which franchise #3 was from but didn't know which game exactly.

Sheesh, some of these are hard. I love the Zack & Wiki graphic at the top!

I can't believe I miss that game now. It was one of Capcom's most memorable games, just for the fact that it was so darned unusual. And it got me hooked on Wii remote waggle controls. Lol.
