I mentioned the wonder of travel in my Worst Game of 2009 to Play on the Train and there is a game that captures the wanderlust that you can take with you as you travel -- Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box.
It takes place on a train and while it is about solving puzzles it does an amazing job of whisking the players away in a charming and magical manner. Professor Layton and his cohorts explore every inch of the train, but also have a mysterious destination and several stops along the way.
