Part two is up!

X-Com -- the last line of defense against the alien menace. You are the brave men and women who will fight the invaders and drive them from our planet. The organization will arm you with rifles, heavy cannons, and bad language so that your courage knows no bounds. Suit up -- we’re going to war!

I've got a lot to update everyone with for this week's edition, so I've split week five into two parts. Check back tomorrow for the exciting conclusion! For now, read on about our return to the beating desert sun for another UFO investigation.

Last week's recap: We cleaned out a small UFO's worth of Sectoids, fish-in-a-barrel style. No losses -- a textbook execution by all accounts. We just discovered alien alloys, and the community has decided to further research into personal armor. Good choice, too.

Right as the week ended, another UFO landed close to Bitmob headquarters. Going in for the investigation is myself, James DeRosa, Jay Henningsen, Lilly Palmer, Thomas Billings, Kevin Spillman, Michael Pangelina, Edgar Mena, Rob Koulakjian, and Jason Wilson.

We've done away with the wimpy rifles and -- aside from the rocket launcher, heavy cannon, and auto-cannon -- have outfitted the entire squad in laser-based weaponry. I've armed two dedicated scouts -- Jason and Kevin, who have the highest reaction time out of those soldiers who can't hold the big guns -- with laser pistols, smoke grenades, and motion scanners.

I'll be perfectly honest -- I never research motion scanners. I find them to be useless gadgety. But you guys insisted, so I've equipped them. And I do make an effort to swing the tide of battle through their use.

We load up the Skyranger and make our way east of Los Angeles. Looks like another desert mission -- hopefully it'll go better than the last. Read on to find out the fate of squad Bitmob!
