Just 20 paces away from the trail, I found this impressive and improbable overhang of land.
I found the island to the right to be particularly neat since it's connected to the mountain by only a small peninsula. Could I perhaps extend it and create a stairway to heaven?
I've finally discovered one of the smaller of the lava mountains. It's a grand view, like a deadly landslide in slow motion, glowing with a deadly radiance. The burning trees are a reminder of how this natural phenomena, even in this world, will plow through everything with little prejudice.
Then just over the next hill, as night falls for the second time when I departed, I see my destination. And from the scale of the size, it will make that last hill look like a lava lamp.
The sheer scale of just how much lava was falling from the peak is amazing. Lava in this game usually only appears as a pool underground, but source tiles of lava somehow spawned at the top of this mountain and fall like a distorted version of Niagara Falls.
To leave my mark on this natural wonder, I constructed a small cabin of stone and wood.
Unfortunately, I underestimated how fire from nearby sources spread and the outer shell of wood caught fire. My wooden chest and workbench inside caught fire, luckily, alerting me that the rest of my house was on fire. I hastily put out the fire indoors and snuffed out the fire outside, too late to save a few squares of wood.
I've finally rebuilt my cabin, this time all in stone as well as putting out the nearby fires to prevent a future outbreak.
What other wonders await me in Minecraft? There are still more ideas for future builds I have yet to make proper plans for. An entire floating island in the sky? A transcontinental ice tunnel beneath the ocean? A roller coaster through flaming hula hoops? I'd say the skies the limit but there is actually a sky limit in Minecraft.
Ok! The only limitation is your imagination!
