Editor's note: Andrew works for an underwater salvage/exploration company, which makes him a sort of damp Indiana Jones, at least in my imagination. More importantly, it sounds like he's hiring! -Demian
Looking for a job? A while ago, I posted a piece about putting those button-pushing skills to work. This time, I'm serious!
JW Fishers, for those of you not in the underwater search and recovery industry, is a company that makes any number of products for underwater exploration, from seabed imaging to shipwreck hunting. Their remotely operated vehicle line (ROV) may not be the most technical, but they are some of the cheapest high-performance underwater robots available to the general public.
And you, Bitmob reader, have a leg up as a prospective ROV technician. Just check out that rig over on the right -- it's like the progeny of a Dual Shock 2 and Steel Battalion controller!
If you've ever played a game with true 3D navigation (flight sims come to mind, as well as Deep Fighter for PC/Dreamcast and the Descent series), you'll know that video game controls map extremely well to navigating a 3D space. JW Fishers recognized this and put theory into practice!
So if you got $20,000, why don't you drop it on a new console?
And I hope they don't upgrade to the Sixaxis. If you've ever been on a boat in swelling seas...that shit would control worse than a drunk round of Wii Sports bowling.
