People are always saying, "This is the best this" and "This is the best that" -- usually it's not. I dare you to look at this artwork for Super Mario Bros., created by deviantARTist lastscionz, and tell me you wouldn't kill to play an anime adventure starring bad-ass versions of Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi the killer dinosaur [via Geekologie]:

Even Bowser looks threatening, something he hasn't been since possibly Mario 64 (even then, all you had to do was throw the guy by his tail three times, and you kicked his ass). The sad part is, prints are sold out. The artist does say he might make more and to check his journal for pricing and availability -- so e-mail this guy and tell him to start making some more, will ya?
