Bitmob Game Night Reminder: Halo 2 Tonight

Halo 2 MultiplayerIn case you missed (or forgot about) the original announcement, here's a friendly reminder: The Bitmob community intends to revisit Delta Halo this Friday for a few rounds of Team Slayer.

Be prepared to shed blood at 5 p.m. PST. If you haven't played Halo 2 on your Xbox 360 yet, you'll have to log on about 20 minutes early in order to update the game and download all of the free multiplayer maps.

Bitmob co-founders Dan Hsu and Demian Linn are set to host the games, but they won't be alone. Brett Bates has called shotgun on the Warthog and Rich McGrath won't be far behind with a few plasma grenades. If time permits, Greg Ford may even make an appearance.

Don't worry -- I made them promise to take it easy on you!

This is what it is like to play Halo 2 online:

I am alive...dead. Oh, alive again...dead. Alive...dead. After a few minutes I just go hide in a corner, crouch down and cry.

So yeah! I am there!

Make sure to download all of the map packs. They are free.

I'm just really happy I'm finally going to have all the maps everyone else has! No more ragging on me cause I don't have ODST...

I'm there

Brett, everyone is going to teabag you an extra time, since you didn't have the map packs last time.

I +1'd Brian's teabag comment... just making that clear.

Damn, I can't get a copy... I'll keep trying.

That was a nice, fun farewell to Halo 2 multiplayer. I was worried I wouldn't be able to play, because my main 360 red-ringed Thursday night, and I had to download all the maps again on my backup unit right before game time. I was Sir Auros, in case anyone was wondering.

So you were Sir Auros?! You bastard!

I had a great time playing with everyone, and getting killed about once every 15 seconds. We must have been playing for more than 4 hours! A great send-off to a great game.

Luke/Sir Auros: Maybe it was you causing all the map-loading problems! :P

Good games, everyone. Good times. I'll miss that game.

Yeah, playing it again last night (the last time I played was in late 2006) reminded me of all the great maps. Even amongst the DLC Halo 2 had very few maps I disliked, and it's too bad more of them weren't remade. I'll take Ascension or Ivory Tower over Construct or Narrows any day.

@Luke: Yeah, Halo 2's maps were far superior to those of Halo 3. Halo 3 was a more balanced game, but most maps weren't very creative IMO.

Yeah, we rode it out in style, no one can deny us that! Although I was the only guy from the UK there :(

Still, I couldn't believe how quickly I got back into it! I used to play it competitively, but moved on to Halo 3 long ago...

Some very good games guys, was a hoot playing with you all...

Sorry, double posted. So I'll add this: WE KICKED ASS!

Alex, you used to play competitively? That explains a lot last night....

I wish we could've heard everyone more clearly. And I wish I played better during Snipers. But that was still awesome.
