Happy August everybody! The hottest month has one again found itself necessary to grace us with its benign presence. Hell, after last week’s ho-hum list of releases, could you blame August for having to come out and remind us that video games aren’t just a bunch of hidden object adventure games, movie license games, and dancing Smurfs. That’s right August! Show’em how it’s done. What’s that? Deus Ex: Human Revolution doesn’t come out until the 23rd? Well screw you August.
Remember. Release dates are quite literally made at the whims of the publisher. The following are subject to change without any warning.

Phineus and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension (PS3, Wii, DS)
Need a little third person action platformer to make the days go by faster? Can’t get enough Phineus and Ferb? Do you even exist? Let’s say you do. This here game will scratch both of those itches instantly. It will even scratch that I-just-bought-the-Playstation-Move-now-what-do-I-use-it-for itch too. Sweet.
Sesame Street: Ready, Set, Grover! (Wii, DS)
I can’t be the only one to be weirded out when ever they show Elmo with legs. After years of watching Sesame Street, I’ve always imagined Elmo, Grover, Bert and Ernie, Cookie Monster, and others to have strangely mismatched legs, which explains why we never see them on-screen. Anyways, this piece of educational software aimed at preschoolers teaches important life lessons and healthy habits through games and various other activities. It even comes with a special cover that goes over the Wii Remote covering all the buttons except for the A button for easier controls. Unless you’ve got a kid you’re desperately trying to teach important life lessons, or you’re desperately trying to learn important life lessons, you may want to pass.
Bleach: Soul Resurreccion (PS3)
Some Dynasty Warriors clones don’t exactly say outright that they’re Dynasty Warriors clones. Take Bleach: Soul Resurreccion (sic) for example. For the most part, it follows the formula almost to a T. Some differentiations here include a leveling system that’s not too dissimilar from the Sphere Grid in Final Fantasy X and side missions. Bleach fans will undoubtedly lap it up from the looks of it, but I have a feeling most people are a little burned out on Dynasty Warrior clones by now.
This wait just gets more and more intolerable. If you need me, I’ll be pushing blocks.
