Fallout New Mojave Desert Realty

Fallout 3 may have taken place in a post-nuclear war in the far future, but the idea of shelters materializing is alive and well in Barstow California reports the LA Times. Under the Mojave Desert of Southern California, real estate developers are creating fallout shelters for would be survivors and gamers.

Just like the popular video game, the company TerraVivos promises its site to be a doomsday shelter for the impending possibility of a nuclear warhead strike by terrorists, the axis of evil or the wrath of a Mayan god of death.

The threat has turned ordinary citizens to would be buyers. Fallout New Vegas seems more of a realty than a reality when Bethesda officially ships the title.

The location is currently under wraps, but for 5K one gets a bed in a four bedroom bunker under the scorching Mojave desert. Children are not free, 2.5K each, but pets are welcome. If sharing a bunk is not your thing, 50K will net you a four person room.

California is not the only fear stricken state, as doomsday shelters are popping up in Oregon and Kansas. Currently, there are still time to make reservations before 2012, as only half of the spaces are available.

Just like Fallout 3 Vault communities, the shelter promises to have all the modern day comforts and amenities. A fit room. A jail for troublemakers. An atrium to keep the days going. Air purifiers to help with those long days.

We all do not want to become mutants. Do we now?
