Slender might be the scariest game I've ever played. I've conquered the Necromorphs in Dead Space without a sweat. I've blasted through piles and piles of zombies that would make a mortician blush.
But never, have I ever, been more helpless and terrified in a game that I didn't even have to pay for.
That's the genius of Slender, a free to play game developed by Parsec Productions in which the only objective of the game is to collect 8 manuscripts scattered throughout the pitch-black forest.
You don't have a plasma cutter; you don't have a shotgun. All you've got is a flashlight and your wits. And boy, did I lose more than just my wit - and I loved every second of the short ride. Slender immerses you -no- it downright forces you into his world without a word of warning.
Although there really isn't much to Slender's gameplay, it's quickly becoming one of my favorite horror games. It's simple, it's hilarious, it's cruel as hell.
If you're a fan of horror games, you owe it to yourself to just try the game. Move over "Bloody Mary" and Ouija Boards, I found my new favorite Halloween activity.
