Metal Gear Shia: Sons of LaBeouf

Fanboys are constantly fantasizing about the possibility of a Metal Gear Solid film, and going so far as to cast each role individually. It was only a matter of time until someone suggested that tween heart-throb, Shia LaBeouf, fill the shoes of the game's world-weary protagonist, Solid Snake. But who would have thought that someone would cast Shia in every role?

Courtesy of 4chan's video game board, this image paints the painful picture of an MGS film with 34 Shias. It's like a bad Eddie Murphy film...only much worse.

If you were responsible for casting an MGS film, would you select Shia LaBeouf for any roles? Personally, I think he would make a half-decent Vulcan Raven -- but that's just me.

On a serious note, however, I believe that video games should stay within the medium, especially narrative-driven games like Metal Gear Solid. There's no sense in ruining the series for its die-hard fans by creating a crummy movie with the game's namesake. I learned never to trust Hollywood after the Max Payne movie, and no amount of apologies will make me forget [via 4chan].

Epic. I love the MGS universe but I also love all the silliness on the internet about MGS.

I for one don't see all the hate for LaBouf. He's pretty much this generation's Tom Cruise.

I don't think series can be ruined by a movie for die hard fans... those would be die easy fans. @william... his generations Tom Cruise? Wow. I'm not a TC fan but that's pretty mean. If youre gonna be a man named Shia LaBeouf, you gotta be way cooler/tougher/manlier than that guy is. Tom is pretty cool for an insane midget.

Awesome! They took a bunch of quotes from the flash video METAL GEAR AWESOME. Back to your topic, I think Metal Gear Solid is one of the perfect games to cross over to another medium--specifically a theater production or a radio play. Think about it: most of the story happens through codecs, the "sneak that shit" gameplay could be largely omitted without affecting the story, and the plot could be pretty intriguing to those outside the gaming world. I'd pay to see actors onstage, or hear voice actors over the radio, act out the complex relationships and plot twists from the first MGS game. It could work, I'm telling you!

Wow... leave it up to 4chan to come up with some disturbing stuff. I love how they picked one of the goofiest pictures they could of Labeouf.
