This week, Area 5's Matt Chandronait and GameXplain.com's Andre Segers join Bitmob's Dan Hsu and Demian Linn on the latest and greatest Mobcast.

The group discusses what factors make for an immersive experience, which video-game weapons they'd like to own (and which ones they'd hate to be on the wrong end of), the high price tags of current-gen retail releases, and whether or not ongoing real-world military conflicts are too sensitive for developers to base their products around.

Here's a link to the article that Shoe references in the show.

Hey guys, nice show. Just wanted to quickly weigh in on the topic of video games and the U.S. military. I have to say it's always a bit unsettling to me when I see the U.S. military create a commercial that very deliberately looks like a video game. It's even more unsettling to see these ads appear on video game websites.

Those advertisments are clearly saying, "if you like military vidoe games, you might want to think about joining the military". Is it appropriate for the military to be making that type of suggestion to young people? I don't think so.

That type of marketing seems very reminiscent of Camel cigarettes Joe Camel ad campaign that was targeted at children and young adults under the age of 18.
