Apple loves to crash parties. Why else would they announce a date to announce their next iPad on the day Games Developer Conference showfloor opens? Invites were sent early today with a simple message, from Reuters, "Come see what 2011 will be the year of." Certainly, for Apple fanatics, March 2nd is a welcome (why can't gamers be so accpeting of yearly hardware revisions?).

Oh really, Apple. How dare thee. 

Will Apple have any type of presence at next weeks GDC?

As of now, they are not scheduled to appear but will be taking any wind out of the sails for some as the glut of tech coverage covers the ipad 2 instead of the NGP and the 3DS.
