I just went to a local "kid's entertainment center." The arcade was disappointing, but I got enough tickets to "buy" a Styrofoam airplane! And it's already broken.

News Blips: Millions download Angry Birds RioNews Blips:

Over 10 million people have downloaded Angry Birds Rio -- a movie-license game. Maybe the adaptation process that has poisoned so many movie games doesn't have the same effect on mobile releases. Rio -- an animated film from Twentieth Century Fox -- features birds with what what I'm assuming is a greater range of emotions than just angry. [Phandroid]

The Australian ratings board unceremoniously reveals a Burnout sequel. According to Destructoid, the new game looks like it will be available for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. It isn't clear if it'll be a retail or downloadable game. Since the Australian board rated it before it was announced, it is likely that it is an Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network release. I'm kinda bummed that Burnout Crash is a follow-up to Paradise and not a game starring a strung-out version of the famous bandicoot.

Aksys sends out a teaser image of Bit.Trip's Captain Video in anaglyph 3D. Wait a second -- I thought that the Bit.Trip game series was over. That may be the case, but with the penetration of 3D, now is as good a time as any to remake one or more of the games. The art director responsible for the Bit.Trip titles has said that he would like to have a game on the 3DS -- hey, does that system have 3D? Maybe that's what this is all about.

Madden Football co-creator suing EA for royalties. The designer of the original John Madden Football, Robin Antonick, believes he is entitled to over 20 years of royalties. His original contract stipulated that EA would pay for any derivative games based on his original work. EA, of course, says that these accusations have no merit. You may be inclined to agree with the publisher's attorneys because it took the plaintiff 20 years to file his claim. Antonick's council, however, insists their client only became aware that the subsequent Madden games were all based on the original work. [1UP]
