Great news, everybody. I’ve been found not guilty on three counts of using teh haXXors! Unfortunately, on the charges of role-playing as a female in online games I’m very, very guilty.
News Blips:
Rockstar and L.A. Noire developer Team Bondi won’t work together again. Team Bondi doesn’t like Rockstar and Rockstar doesn’t like Team Bondi. At least, that is what it seems like. Emails posted on GI.biz suggest that Team Bondi was angered by the hours the developers were forced to work and the creative control that Rockstar took from the team. Rockstar is angry about the money they dropped on the development of the game and the insane decisions made by Team Bondi management. What is fairly clear is that the band responsible for one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2011 has broken up, and the possibility of the two getting back together for a follow-up is nearly nonexistent.
Gears of War 3 leaks to the Internet -- Epic is working with law enforcement. Someone with very few scruples has put the single-player campaign online for anyone with equal or less scruples to download and play. Epic’s Dana Cowley responded to the news: “We have seen the reports of Gears of War 3 content being propped on the Web and working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation. This content is not from a final build and is not representative of what fans will enjoy when the game launches worldwide on September 20, 2011.” In unrelated and totally fabricated news, Cliff Bleszinski’s next game will feature an enraged developer joining an anti-piracy task force to curb stomp some fools.
Far Cry 3 will be 10 times larger than Far Cry 2. Which is weird, because I never thought to myself while playing the previous games: Man, if only there were more jungle for me to run through aimlessly. Thankfully, that doesn’t mean players will have to really search to find the action. “We’re focusing on taking that scale and making it dense,” said Far Cry 3 narrative director Jason VandenBerghe. “Around every corner there’s something to find or see." As long as I don’t have to deal with malaria, I’ll be happy. [G4TV]
