CM Punk won the WWE Championship! I don’t know what that means!

News Blips:

Sony’s developers are looking into VR. “We’re working with a couple of games at Sony that are experimenting with virtual reality-type experiences,” said Sony London Studios Chief Mick Hocking. As far as I’m concerned this is a slippery slope. It starts when games begin “experimenting” with VR, then the next thing you know there's a shady  holodeck on every inner-city corner. Sony introduced a VR-type headset at CES that looks similar to a Geordi La Forge visor. It isn't clear that this is the exact piece of equipment that Sony's software teams are working with. Who knows, maybe they've found a way to beam images directly into people's brains. My kooky uncle insists that the Navy has had this technology for 30 years, but he eats drywall. [Develop]

Activision demands control of modernwarfare3.com. Last week I mentioned that whoever owns modernwarfare3.com was forwarding it to the official Battlefield 3 website. Now, Activision has filed an official complaint in an effort to take control of the domain. Presently, modernwarfare3.com isn’t loading. I’m guessing that the site’s owner took it down after he found Bjorn the Unicorn’s severed head in his bed sheets. [1UP]

Square Enix sets Final Fantasy 13-2 for a January release.  If at first you don’t succeed -- and spend, like, a zillion dollars in the process -- then just pop a “2” on the end and have another go. At least that is what I’m assuming the original meeting was like for the people making Final Fantasy 13-2. The sequel to one of the biggest Japanese RPGs will arrive early in 2012 and should remedy many of the complaints people had with Final Fantasy 13. Expect less linearity and a lot more exploration. Oh, and if you're feeling all hurt about the "at first you don't succeed" gag, send all hate mail to JeffLovesFinalFantasy@SquareEnix.com.
