Gaming on the Pc creates a different experience. I don’t know how to explain it, but there’s a differenct sense of immersion when you sit on a couch with a controller in your hands as opposed to sitting at your desk with your fingers on a mouse and keyboard.

who said men can't multi-task?

I feel a sense of control and accuracy as I navigate through a game using the keyboard and mouse. I like the modding options, I feel I am given a greater range for ‘customisation’ and as for strategy games and RPG’s, I find it an infinitely better experience on my Pc.

Yet, as the years have advanced, I find myself playing more games on my console. I also find myself realising there a less games that I can play on my PC and this has less to do with porting games to the Pc platform but rather, more to do with the investment required to keep a Pc running at its peak.

I love playing games on the Pc but I hate the cost involved to keep ‘in-the-game’.

I simply cannot wait to play Dragon Age: Origins but find myself at the crossroads: Pc or Console? I would usually choose the former over the latter but I fear my machine wont cope.

With Christmas looming ever closer, my funds are stretched with the need to budget for Christmas: Tree, Christmas Dinner and presents.

My CPU is now old and slow – it’s also still 32bit. The once great 2GB of memory is now pitiful against a medium spec PC of today.

My Video Card needs to be replaced but as I looked into making the change to the new directX 11 I discovered I’d need to switch to windows 7.

And than it starts…

no guts - no glory

Windows 7 means an upgrade on the motherboard to dual core 64bit. With that, I’ll need more RAM to run the OS, better cooling system, more powerful PSU – more everything! All this change only to know this inevitable cycle will be repeated somewhere in the future.

today's gamers are swamped in cash!

PC gaming isn’t just plug and play. It requires attention that I simply don’t want to give anymore. I love RTS and RPG games on the pc but I hate feeling punished by the evolution of technology and software – create a buy back scheme for PC gamers and we may find more people gaming on the PC.
